Beneath the streets of Lusaka, something ancient stirs. The Chikishikishi — a deity from Zambian mythology — has awakened, and it wants its land back. What it finds is a city of people who have forgotten it exists.
Maya, a journalist chasing the story of her career, and Chola, an ex-engineer haunted by what he knows, find themselves at the centre of something they cannot explain and cannot outrun.
Escaping Lusaka is a 60-page black and white manga-style one shot with a colour cover. It is the flagship entry point into the Of Gods and Of Monsters universe — a world of African mythology colliding with modern life.
