Short Film · 15 Minutes · 3 Acts
A musician drowning in the rat race. A film about what it costs to forget who you are.
The Story
Mukuka was a musician. Then life got in the way — bills, responsibilities, the grind. He traded the thing that made him who he was for the thing that pays the rent. Now he's drowning, and he doesn't even know it yet.
Great Expectations is a 15-minute short film in three acts, exploring what it means to lose yourself to the rat race — and what it takes to find your way back. Written, directed by, and starring Jeremiah Chiedza.
The film features two original songs written for the project: Still Me and Burn.

Structure
Act One
We meet Mukuka where the dream used to be. The music is gone. The routine has replaced it. He's functional. He's fine. He's disappearing.
Act Two
Something breaks through. A moment, a sound, a memory — something reminds Mukuka of what he was before the world told him to grow up.
Act Three
Not a fairy tale ending. A real one. Mukuka has to decide what he's willing to lose to get back what matters. The music plays.
The Lead
Played by Jeremiah Chiedza. A musician who traded his passion for stability — and is only now realising the true cost of that trade.
